At that moment in prayer when I set myself before God, that is the real me. The every fault laid bare, ever grateful, joyful, repentant, supplicant me.
In prayer - the trappings fall away, there is no public presence, no outer-shell - no limit to who we are. There is purity in prayer and when I look at who I am when I pray, I want that to carry through the hours of my day - not just the moments of my prayers. So I strive to let that spirit show, because I believe that is really all God asks of me, be present - be wholly present and love and act with a Spirit beyond myself.
