The Laundry Room Board

Awhile ago HolleyGerth and AnnVoskamp worked together on a project - their result was "A Set of Word Stengtheners" I cannot tell you how much they inspired me in this world of loud, frank boys I live in!

Our laundry room is a mess of smells, sports uniforms and towels - the towels never end!  This sort of room - is a depository - a catch-all space that is very symbolic of our life.

We constantly write and erase messages on the board at the end of the room - funny, silly, sarcastic, and sacred. 

Here is the latest - we need it - Lent is on its way and kind speech needs to flow through this house - and so I copied Word Strengtheners to the 'the board'.

These words have been neatly printed on the fridge for days - printed in color - cut properly and placed just so - but they missed the mark, these boys need messy, present, interactive  - so here they are in the hub of our lives - the laundry room. 

They beg us to pray, to be kind, to be what God wants for us. The words belong to Holley and Ann; the board and the laundry no one would own but our family - it really does smell - some days the fabric softener wins, some days it doesn't.

Let us be worthy, it is not easy, it is not a simple task, it is life, it is real. It is all that is asked of us.
